VE day celebrations

Headington Rye Prep pupils marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day in a special event at their Forest School sessions.

Year 1 pupils came together to create a natural image of the Union Jack flag on Thursday 8th May, 80 years after the formal end of the Second World War in Europe, celebrated as Victory in Europe Day.

Pupils talked about what it was like during the Second World War and why people still remember and commemorate the celebration today.

Miss Rachel Ford, Year 1 teacher, said: “Well done everyone on your collaboration with our creative project!”
