Sixth formers complete Silver Expedition

Following the cancelled Duke of Edinburgh trip in September 2018 due to bad weather, Mr Mike Levett, IT Manager and Mrs Emily Mason, PA to Dr Jennette Jefferies took a group of sixth formers on their Silver Award qualifying expedition to the Forest of Dean over Mother’s Day weekend 2019.

This is the earliest in the year that the School has organised such an expedition but as the girls were shortly to start their A Level and IB examinations the weekend of 30th and 31st March was the only one possible.

The conditions overnight were extremely cold – the girls even had ice on the tents in the morning to contend with. Despite these conditions, the girls performed brilliantly with no complaints (other than having to get up at 6.00 am on the final morning when the clocks had gone forward after an hour less sleep). All the girls taking part passed their award with flying colours.
