Supporting the School

Headington School was founded in 1915 to provide “a sound education for girls, to fit them for the needs and opportunities likely to arise after the war”.

Although the world has changed dramatically over the past century, Headington continues to equip its students for a future full of possibilities, possibilities that the School’s founders could have only dreamt of.

Headington has always relied upon the generosity of its former students, parents, staff and friends to enable it to meet the evolving needs of its pupils. Many of the buildings and facilities that exist today are the direct result of donations from hundreds of Headingtonians, parents and friends committed to supporting the work of the School.

The need for your support is as great as ever. There are many families whose daughters would benefit from a Headington education but who simply could not afford to pay independent fees. Headington is already able to offer the parents of about 10% of senior school pupils some level of means-tested assistance with their tuition fees. We are committed to making our school accessible to these families and others like them, and believe that in doing so we enrich the diversity of the school community to the benefit of all our pupils.

Income from fees alone is not enough to allow the School to realise its full potential. Headington needs to be able to respond in a fast changing world, providing new technologies and enhanced facilities to make sure that we remain true to our founding ethos of equipping our girls to take full advantage of the opportunities that exist today and in the decades to come. We would therefore encourage you to consider supporting your School, in whatever way best suits your circumstances.

All donations, whether small or large, made through your Will or during your lifetime, will make a real difference to current and future generations of young women getting ready to take their place in the world.
