A broad and balanced programme of PE is taught throughout the school by specialist staff enabling every child to find something they enjoy and through which they can gain a sense of achievement.
Starting in the Foundation Stage with basic skills, the curriculum steadily builds to cover a range of activities including dance, gymnastics and ball skills. Girls swim weekly from the age of 5 in the 25m indoor pool at the Senior School. In Years 5 and 6 there is an emphasis on team games with all girls having the opportunity to represent the school in a team during their final two years.
The large, well equipped Senior School sports hall is also used by Years 5 and 6 each week. The school was recently awarded a Sport England Activemark Gold award, reflecting the breadth and quality of the PE curriculum. Extra curricular sporting activities include fencing, judo, trampolining and cross country.
