Anne CouttsWelcome to our website.

As well as providing a wealth of information about our staff and pupils, our curriculum, and the facilities and opportunities on offer to girls at Headington School, Oxford, this site will give you a flavour of life here. There can be no substitute for a personal visit, but as you browse the site you will experience some of the warmth and atmosphere that sets the school apart.

Headington offers a strong academic education for girls aged 11-18, as well as a myriad of other opportunities. We have a tradition of excellent pastoral care and understand from long experience the pressures that adolescent girls may face.

We believe that girls respond to encouragement and to challenge. We have high expectations of girls at Headington, and many visitors remark on the friendly, open and confident nature of our pupils.

Each girl needs to be treated as an individual. We are not looking for a certain 'type', or for girls with particular talents. Headington's dynamic international environment enables all girls to appreciate a broad mix of cultures and backgrounds.

We believe that girls should be equipped for a future full of possibilities. Girls leave Headington confident, but not arrogant; able to be independent yet sensitive to the needs and views of others; and possessing the academic credentials and adaptability to succeed.
