Welcome to the Headington School website

This site introduces our staff, our pupils and our curriculum, and shows you some of the facilities and opportunities that Headington School, Oxford can offer to your daughter. More importantly, it will also give you a flavour of life here at the school. There can be no substitute for a personal visit, but as you browse the site you will experience some of the warmth and atmosphere that sets us apart.

Headington offers a strong academic education for girls aged 11-18, alongside a myriad of other opportunities. We have a tradition of excellent pastoral care and understand from long experience the pressures that your daughter may face.

I believe that girls respond to encouragement and to challenge. At Headington, we have high expectations, and many visitors remark on the friendly, open and confident bearing of our pupils.

We understand that your daughter needs to be treated as an individual. We are not looking for a certain 'type', or for girls with particular talents. Our dynamic international environment enables all girls to appreciate a broad mix of cultures and backgrounds.

I believe that your daughter should be prepared to face a future full of possibilities. Girls leave Headington confident, but not arrogant; able to be independent yet sensitive to the needs and views of others; and possessing the academic credentials and adaptability to succeed.
