Prep School Sporting Success

Well done to the prep school's swimmers, netball players and cross country runners, who have achieved some superb sporting successes in recent weeks.

There were 12 teams scheduled to play in this tournament. After a first round defeat to Chandlings Manor, Headington girls won all the other matches in their section. This meant they went through to the semi finals in second place, playing the winners of the other section. They beat High March 6-3, going through to meet Chandlings Manor again in the final. This time there was no holding back, and Headington scored a decisive victory of 7 goals to 3. The girls were presented with individual medals and a shield which they will hold for a year.

Result: U9 A – 2nd place; U9 B – 9th place; U11 A – 1st place; U11 B – 2nd place
Well done to all the teams, who ran over very demanding, hilly and muddy terrain. 11 teams entered the under 11 age group. In the under 9 event, Heading ton A’s put in a spirited performance and caught up to finish 2nd missing out on first place by only 1m. Individual plaques were awarded to the girls in the U11 A team, who won their event. Well done to all those who took part.
