Outstanding Ofsted for Prep
Staff and pupils at Headington Prep's Foundation Stage were delighted to receive an Ofsted report that rated them as Oustanding across the board!
The school had no advance notice of Ofsted's appearance, making their achievement all the more impressive. An overall grade of Outstanding is only given when it is achieved in all of the three areas inspected: 'Helping children achieve well and enjoy what they do', 'Helping children make a positive contribution' and 'Organisation'.
The report notes that 'The quality of teaching and learning is outstanding ... by the time they leave the Foundation Stage Unit, most children are working at levels which are in advance of those expected for their age'. It goes on to say that 'they develop extremely positive attitudes to learning because it is made so enjoyable and exciting for them ... Excellent relationships, friendships and behaviour ensure that this is a happy place to be'. On the subject of organisation, it states that 'Leadership and management of early education is outstanding', colucluding that 'no recommendations for improvement are made because the quality and standards of nursery education are outstanding.'
