We are delighted to announce that Headington School has been authorized to become an IB World School and to teach the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme as an alternative to A levels starting in September 2009.

The Upper 4 spent two days pitting their wits against some of the challenges of adult life in the annual 'Be Real' challenge last week. Through role playing, team work and problem solving, girls tackled challenges such as household budgeting, redundancy and job applications.

Last Friday the Prep School welcomed Ross, a very special visitor from a charitable organisation called 'Just Different'. Just Different is a group of disabled people who tour schools teaching pupils about disability.

This term we have introduced a whole school programme of ‘Values’. We have discussed what Values and personal qualities are and are choosing one value each month to have as a focus.

60 GCSE History students visited the First World War Battlefields of Ypres and the Somme, seeing the cemeteries of both Commonwealth and German soldiers. Girls walked across some of the same ground that British soldiers trod on 1st July 1916: the tragic first day of the Battle of the Somme.
